"Some Crazy River"

Tears that sneak up,
           pre-ordained,
               in full bloom
prepared in some distant recess
                      of my heart
                            or soul
Why do these tears
           unannounced,
    unexpected,
with a mind and force of their own,
           pour down my face?

Like some crazy river
   without notice, exploding,
         swells its banks,
floods the countryside unknowing

Let the mud and splintered wood
   float and fall
       where they may,
let the mud and splintered wood
                         float and fall!
Transform these dry shores
once again, unruly,
transform these dry shores
once again, once again,
Transform these dry shores
once again, unruly,
transform these dry shores
once again, once again
Splash my face
shake my heart!
Splash my face
shake my heart!
been ‘round long enough
to know that it’s the start
      of something new,
           something true
Tears that sneak up,
           pre-ordained,
               in full bloom
prepared in some distant recess
                      of my heart
                            or soul
Why do these tears
           unannounced,
    unexpected,
with a mind and force of their own,
           pour down my face?

Like some crazy river
   without notice, exploding,
         swells its banks,
floods the countryside unknowing

Let the mud and splintered wood
   float and fall
       where they may,
let the mud and splintered wood
                         float and fall!
Transform these dry shores
once again, unruly,
transform these dry shores
once again, once again,
Transform these dry shores
once again, unruly,
transform these dry shores
once again, once again
